Rune Engraving is a new system in Wow Season of Discovery that allows players to use skills added in future DLCs. It brings a lot of excitement and changes to the gameplay of WoW Classic Vanilla. Nothing is more remarkable for Druid players than having access to some of the future DLC skills in the early game. We can combine these new runes in-game to create a new Druid Build, with a total of 24 runes available so far. WoW SoD Phase 2 Druid Runes - Engrave Belt - Berserk rune

Rune Effect: When activated, this ability causes your Mangle (Bear) ability to hit up to 3 targets and have no cooldown, and reduces the energy cost of all your Cat Form abilities by 50%. Lasts 15 sec. Requires Bear Form, Cat Form, or Dire Bear Form to activate. Clears the effect of Fear and makes you immune to Fear for the duration.Rune Location: Head to locate the

Beastly Effigy

in Thousand Needles around the area of (69, 55). Once near the Effigy, you will receive the

Beastly Effigy buff

. To proceed, use Challenging Roar on the Beastly Effigy, which will

summon Zai'enki

. Defeating Zai'enki will give you access to the

Idol of the Heckler

. To utilize the Idol of the Heckler, equip it and use Challenging Roar to taunt two or more enemies simultaneously. Proceed to kill at least one of the enemies while they are taunted. After successfully killing five enemies using this method, right-click the

equipped Idol of the Heckler

to learn Berserk Rune.Update 20Feb, 2024: Berserk now also increases the number of targets struck by Lacerate while active, effectively enhancing their AoE capabilities.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Druid Runes - Engrave Belt - Eclipse rune

Rune Effect: Starfire increases the critical strike chance of your next two Wraths by 30%, and Wrath increases the critical strike chance of your next Starfire by 30%, both effects stacking up to 4 charges. Both spells also gain 70% chance at all times to not lose casting time when you take damage.Rune Location: To start in Desolace, head to the

Extinguished Campfire northwest of the Kodo Graveyard (47, 54).

Once there, please pick up the quest and head to

Kormek's Hut (63, 39) to turn it into Bibbly F'utzbuckle.

Bibbly will give you the next quest, "

On the Lam"

. To continue the quest, travel to Booty Bay and go to the inn. Speak to Tokal to turn in On the Lam and pick up Cherry for Your Thoughts.

Illari's Key

, which unlocks a nearby chest containing the Eclipse Rune. Night Elves have a peaceful dialogue option to obtain Illari's Key instead of fighting her.

Rune Effect: Heals a friendly target for [161 / 100 * (38.949830 + 0.606705 * Level + 0.167780 * Level * Level)] to [189 / 100 * (38.949830 + 0.606705 * Level + 0.167780 * Level * Level)]. Heals for an additional 20% if you have a Rejuvenation, Regrowth, Lifebloom, or Wild Growth effect active on the target. This spell benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Healing Touch.Rune Location: Go to

from the Rotting Ancient, which will start the quest

"The Lost Ancient."

After that, teleport to Moonglade and talk to

Orokai to turn in "The Lost Ancient."

Orokai will give you "

The Lost Saplings

" as a follow-up quest. However, accepting this quest will begin a timer for the remaining portion of the Rune discovery. To complete "The Lost Saplings," you must loot the

Crystal Waters of Lake Elune'ara

and receive the

Water of Lake Elune'ara.

Then, without teleporting, dying, or letting the timer run out, you must find and water four separate Saplings in the Eastern Kingdoms. Here are the locations of the four saplings:

1. Ancient Sapling in Alterac Mountains: (58, 44)

2. Ancient Sapling in Arathi Highlands: (47, 72)

3. Ancient Sapling in Swamp of Sorrows: (10, 39)

4. Ancient Sapling in Stranglethorn Vale: (33, 65)

Once you have watered all four Saplings, return to Orokai to complete the quest and gain the Nourish Rune.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Druid Runes - Engrave Boots - Dreamstate rune

Rune Effect: Your damaging spell critical strikes grant you 50% of your mana regeneration while casting for 8 sec and increase Nature damage dealt to the target by 20% for 12 sec.Rune Location: Kill

Kolkar Centaurs

in the eastern region of Desolace, which is located around (73, 49). Keep killing them until you find the

Desiccated Seed Pod

. After that, head south to the pond around (70, 70) and swim until the pod transforms into the

Satyrweed Bulb

. Once you have the bulb, go north to Sargeron, specifically the northeast corner, and

plant the seed

around Sandy Loam (75, 20). Upon completion, you will be rewarded with the Dreamstate Rune.

Dark Presence buff

, which indicates that a Dark Rider Elite is nearby.The Dark Riders can be found at different locations across the following areas:

Deadwind Pass (43, 29), Duskwood (23, 47), Swamp of Sorrows (69, 28), Arathi Highlands (60, 40), Badlands (58, 54), The Barrens (52, 36), and Desolace (65, 25).

Once you have obtained all 7 Dalaran Relics, return to the Dalaran Agent and turn in each reward quest for experience points and some silver. When you have returned all 7 relics, you will receive King of the Jungle Rune as a final reward.

Rune Effect: When activated, this grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 sec. After the effect expires, the health is lost. Useable in any form. Class Turning Update

Update 14Feb.2024: 

Huge Nerf Druid

: The base damage of Starsurge has been 

reduced by 35%

. Additionally, blizzard identified and fixed a bug in the Starsurge spell power coefficient, which has now been corrected. Starsurge should be properly gaining 42.9% of spellpower as damage now, as intended. To compensate for this adjustment, they will add an effect to Starsurge that causes your next Starfire to cause 66% extra damage. The intent is not to significantly nerf overall druid damage output but merely to reduce the efficiency of Starsurge specifically and shift the damage output of druids further towards their hard-cast abilities, such as Starfire.Update 16Feb.2024: Starsurge was incorrectly getting 30% additional critical strike chance when Eclipse (Lunar) was active. It now only gets 30% increased critical strike chance from Eclipse (Solar).
Update 20Feb, 2024: Berserk now also increases the number of targets struck by Lacerate while active, effectively enhancing their AoE capabilities. Starsurge bonus damage to Starfire increased to 80%, addressing a bug that caused the bonus damage to be lower than intended at level 40. Swipe now scales with attack power, gaining 10% of attack power as damage. Threat caused by Swipe greatly increased. Rip duration increased to 16 seconds (from 12 seconds), although this change provides only a minor boost as Rip currently accounts for only about 6% of a druid's rotation.
